Faith Kids Director position 

Purpose:

To provide leadership, development, and direction for “Faith Kids”, Faith Church Statesville’s children’s ministry, in conjunction with the vision, mission and strategy of Faith Church Statesville as a whole. The Faith Kids Director will lead this ministry into the next stage that God has planned for it by loving children and giving full space for them to grow in their love for, friendship with, and obedience to Jesus. This is a part-time position.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a loving and spirit-led environment for the children of Faith Church to learn and grow in

 

  • Provide oversight and planning, in partnership with the church staff and volunteer leaders, for all aspects of Faith Kids programming, including but not limited to:

    • Sunday Kids Church

    • Faith Followers ((3-5th Grade Monthly Meeting)

    • Mid-week gatherings as appropriate (eg: Kids on Mission)

    • Vacation Bible School

    • Family events

    • Faith Kids Pool Party

    • Easter festivities

    • Etc.

 

  • Make every effort to attend and oversee event components pertaining to children at church-wide events including but not limited to Back to School Bash, Thanksgiving Lunch, Family Sundays (5th Sunday of the month), Digging Deep series, etc

 

  • Recruit, equip, and motivate volunteer Teachers and Teaching Assistants to effectively lead in Sunday morning Kids Church. Part of this equipping will include facilitating a semi-annual training for volunteers

 

  • Ensure Kids Church check in runs smoothly each Sunday and coordinate the supplies and copies needed for Faith Kids programming weekly

 

  • Develop and oversee the annual budget and expenditures for Faith Kids

 

  • Communicate regularly with parents through email newsletters

 

  • Build a catalog of resources to equip parents to lead their children at home

 

  • Attend weekly staff meetings in the church conference room at 4:00 PM on Thursday afternoons.

 

  • Work directly under the supervision of the Lead Pastor.

 

  • Adhere to all policies and procedures set by the church, including, but not limited to: background checks, teacher/child ratio, and child security

 

 

Qualifications

  • Active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ that glorifies Him, evidenced by action, attitude, and behavior

 

  • Love for children and desire to see them deepen their friendship with Christ

 

  • Heart of a servant leader and a desire to learn and grow in effective ministry

 

  • Seasoned and effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal – up front and in small groups)

 

  • Ability to schedule volunteers and keep track of teaching schedules

 

  • Ability and affinity for understanding and relating to children and their families… and a passion to develop volunteers to grow in their ability to do the same.

 

  • A passion for children’s ministry and to see families and volunteers grow in their faith together.

 

  • Competency with basic computer software (i.e. Excel, Word), social media accounts and the capacity to learn new software (MailChimp, OnRealm, presentation software, others).
